Class Descriptions and Dress Code

African/Jazz Fusion

Emphasis is on various styles of jazz technique combined with African influenced steps. Focus will be given to quicker moves, spinal articulation, dynamics, balance, kicks, turns, and multi-rhythmic steps just to name a few.

 

Dress Code

Dance attire or comfortable loose clothing, jazz shoes optional

Ballet/Modern Combo

Is a great introduction to beginning ballet terminology, with emphasis on posture, correct body placement, core strength, flexibility and musical awareness.

 

Dress Code

Girls- Black leotard, black or pink convertible tights, pink ballet shoes

Boys- White/black t-shirt, black pants/sweats, black ballet shoes

Ballet/Modern Fusion

Is a wonderful blend of ballet and modern, Starting with barre, working on strength and flexibility. Including spinal articulation, floor work, balance, turns, jumps and movement sequences.

Creative Expressions

Is a fun and creative series of classes that introduce the fundamentals of dance while grooming a child's agility and musicality. Students will be introduced to some basic ballet and tap terminology.

Girls- Black leotard, pink convertible tights, black tap shoes

Boys- Black/white t-shirt, black sweats or shorts, black tap shoes

Hip Hop

Students will learn various modern dance steps to up beat Christian Hip Hop music. This class is high energy and fun!

 

Dress Code

Dance attire or comfortable loose clothing, no jeans

Liturgical Dance

In this class students will explore various dance techniques with emphasis on choreography. Emphasis will be directed towards increasing movement vocabulary and dancing with excellence.

Tap/Jazz Combo

Is a great introduction to tap and jazz in a creative atmosphere. In tap students will work on timing and rhythm. In jazz students will work on technique, across the floor and combinations appropriate for age and skill level.
